Omega in the Basel World 2016 released several new Ocean Star Ocean Watch, but this is not to say, Aqua Terra series is being abandoned. In fact, this year released two new Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra watches. However, it is worth noting that, Aqua Terra watch METAS certification is not yet the main timer rating movement. Even so, the new Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra GoodPlanet will also feature a 38.5mm version and a larger 43mm GMT model, and look great.
The 2012 documentary “Oceans and Seas” began as a conservation effort and now includes a new extension to highlight the fragile relationship between our human and animal kingdoms. With the upcoming film, Terra, the focus now is on two new wildlife conservation jobs in Botswana, from which part of the collected income will go to fund these works.
Beginning with a sturdy Grade 5 titanium body of 38.5mm, the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra GoodPlanet is of course a sailing theme and the applied blue index is gorgeous. The white dial is very clean, and faceted blue hand, reminiscent of a Danube shape. The movement through the back to maintain the dome-shaped sapphire crystal case can be seen. Since this is a special edition, it also engraved with a varnish blue “GoodPlanet Foundation.”
The larger Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra GoodPlanet GMT model is 43 mm wide and has 8605 movement with Omega Spindle coaxial movement. This movement has 38 stones, also in 24,200 vph (3.5Hz), 60 hours power reserve. The dial shares a similar functionality with a smaller version, but includes a GMT hand with a red aluminum tip applied.
These watches have an elegant, low-key attraction, the expected marine theme is appropriate, well executed. We are now certain that the fans will look forward to a new campaign on the Aqua Terra line. The price of the smaller Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra GoodPlanet watch is 7,000 Swiss francs, GMT version of the price is 9,000 Swiss francs.
